Kahuna Bodywork with Manuela

KaHuna Massage, also known as Hawaiian Temple Style Massage or Lomi Lomi, facilitates the healing of body, mind and spirit.  It originates in the Polynesian Islands and as a craft was traditionally passed on from generation to generation by a Kahuna, the master practitioner.

The physical body is often the easiest way to open the gates to connect us to universal energies. Once we can let go in our body, we are open to embrace the divine.

This type of massage is nurturing, flowing, loving and ever so enjoyable. All you have to do is embrace the dance of my hands and let go of the mind. You will be amazed how different you can feel”

A common expression of people having received a treatment is, that they feel ‘whole again’, ready to deal with the challenges of life.

This is the result of the practitioner facilitating the ‘reconnection’ of subtle energies in the body, by embracing the person on the table with compassion, acknowledging that we are all on our own special journey, and in the end all that is important, is to love as part of a collective consciousness.

Therefore this style of massage is often also called  ‘Loving Hands Massage.’

AloHā  -  the presence of breath is a simple Hawaiian greeting meaning love, peace , compassion, affection

Huna Philosophy  -  and its 7 principles is a way of living life through a conscious integration of all levels of human existence. Subconscious, Conscious and Higher Self.

Manuela combines massage with other healing tools such as crystal bowls, voice and whatever else feels intuitively appropriate at the time.

Bookings are only available by contacting the clinic on 9295 6663.

Manuela graduated at Kahuna Bodyworks, the school of massage and healing in Margaret River, where she completed the 7 levels of the Diploma in Kahuna Bodywork and Huna Philosophy.

SCENAR Therapy for Effective and Drug Free Pain Relief

Being in pain is not beneficial to long term health, in fact being in pain or being on long-term pain medication is often associated with other health concerns.

If you have acute or chronic pain why not try SCENAR?

  • SCENAR is drug free and non-invasive
  • It gives fast and effective pain relief

The effectiveness of SCENAR Therapy for pain relief is substantial and lasts longer than many other pain control methods. Professional SCENAR Therapy does not just act upon one specific part of the body or organ, but on the WHOLE body to achieve the best result for the person by restoring balance to the body. The sole purpose of SCENAR Therapy is to stimulate the body's own natural healing abilities.

SCENAR is a Russian medical technology and was first introduced to the medical world in the 1980’s by RITM OKB ZAO.

It is highly effective pain relief for acute AND chronic pain conditions such as:

  • Neck/Back/Shoulder Pain
  • Joint Pain
  • Bursitis
  • Sciatica
  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
  • And more……..

Since the very first SCENAR was developed, this extraordinary technology is continuously being expanded upon with further research through numerous testing and clinical studies to guarantee a device that achieves high efficiency and safety. To date, Scenar has been approved in 30 countries around the globe.

The RITM SCENAR device is a small hand-held unit which the practitioner will apply on the skin until a slight tingling sensation is felt.

It may be slightly uncomfortable but not painful.

In most cases the treatment session time will be between 45 to 60 minutes. For acute injuries the treatment time may only be 30 minutes. The practitioner “brushes’ the device over the skin during your treatment. You will be encouraged to tell the practitioner of any changes you feel and any sensations you are experiencing.

The aim is to achieve a reduction in pain DURING the treatment.

In most cases you will require a minimum of 3 treatments but acute conditions may resolve quicker.

The practitioner may also recommend the use of a Personal SCENAR device (for hire) or an Energy Blanket in combination with your clinic visits.

SCENAR technology relies on the body’s mechanism of adaptation ensuring dynamic equilibrium and homeostasis. Regulation of the body’s vital functions is achieved through close connection and interaction of the nervous and endocrine systems.

The main goal of SCENAR therapy is to induce the secretion of a sufficient amount of neuropeptides to relieve pain and initiate a healing sequence.

The neuropeptides in SCENAR therapy, are the most important chemical modulators. Neuropeptide-producing nerve fibres make up more than 70% of the body’s neural tracts and can therefore be stimulated from many areas on the skin.

This is achieved by active feedback mechanisms, bipolar electrical impulses and an individually dosed influence.

The most unique characteristic of SCENAR is that it can induce changes in the parameters of its impulse automatically and in accordance with the body’s response to the device. While conventional therapeutic devices are passive, SCENAR involves active reflex biofeedback, which means that the device communicates actively with the processes that are happening in the body. The SCENAR device does this by monitoring the skin’s impedance and then changes the electrical impulse it emits accordingly. Therefore, active reflex biofeedback means that maximal therapeutic effectiveness can be achieved.

SCENAR enables a maximal part of the nervous tissue to be activated, especially the small nociceptive fibres which have a higher threshold of excitation. This is necessary to achieve an optimal response from the patient’s body with regard to the neuropeptide release. Furthermore, SCENAR is a system of monitoring and response. The body creates electromagnetic and acoustic fields. In a pathological state these fields are modified. It is these signals that are detected by SCENAR and are used to form the therapeutic impulses. SCENAR therefore enables a unique interaction between the device and the patient’s body.

The electrical signals generated by the SCENAR device are similar to the body’s own endogenous neurological impulses, therefore negative side effects as a result of the therapy are rare. The high initial impulse stimulates neuropeptide release from C-fibres more easily than low amplitude stimulation.

An important and unique characteristic of SCENAR is that it is independent of any other device. It is physically controlled by a trained practitioner who observes the treatment process and ensures the device’s function. In this way the patient, the device and the practitioner create a ‘treatment triangle’. This treatment triangle is essential for correcting the disturbed function of the body and for modifying the adaptive reactions of the body resulting in the restoration of homeostasis.

The optimal therapeutic results are always dependent upon the body’s response and are therefore individual to each patient. As the SCENAR device monitors and evaluates treatment results, it independently delivers the correct impulse without the possibility of overdosing and hence causing little or no side effects.
